Designers love their tools – Whether it is a Sharpie, X-Acto, Wacom, or the trusty Crayolas we take pride in what it takes to color with the best of them. We grew up coloring between the lines, (or not) making skies blue, (or purple) and sharpening our waxy sticks of color on the back of the box until we couldn’t use them anymore. We want to congratulate Crayola and its big box of 64 crayons on turning 50. All of us here at R29 may not have turned out as designers if it wasn’t for our early start with crayons, for that we thank you!
Here is a run down of our original favorites:
Justin: Hot Magenta
Sarah: Raw Umber
Dan: Spring Green
Kerri: GoldenRod
Kara: Cerulean Blue
Tim: Red-Orange
Mig: Cerulean Blue
Billy: Salmon
Lauren: Cerulean Blue

Midnight Blue all the way!! Probably had to do with me wanting to stay up until midnight…..anyways Blue is still one of the best colors ever.
Red has always been my fav! It’s bold & classy… what’s not to love?
Burnt Orange
All designers, and nobody picks BLACK? I’m voting for black. I loved making big thick black lines with my crayons.
Hey, side point did you actually draw that R29 with a crayon? That looks like it’s just been filtered with psd. OH SNAP. BUSTED!
burnt sienna or Indian red (aka Chestnut)
Yellow is all you need
