With Halloween just a day away, conversation struck up here at Rule29 about which trick or treat candy is the best. After agreeing that pretty much any candy is good candy, we each had our favorite. Granted, we’re all a bit old for trick or treating, but those candy aisles at the stores are like a seasonal oasis in the regular, bland desert of food we’re used to. So what’s your favorite guilty (or not) pleasure trick or treat candy? Vote after the break!

Yeah Susan! The Kit Kat reigns supreme. Plus it’s a social candy, cuz you can break off a bar and share.
I’m all about the homemade popcorn balls! I’m from a small town so I would only accept them from known sources like Mrs. Speer. Mental note: Don’t accept homemade popcorn balls from some freaky guys house in your neighborhood. Probably not a good call.
My favorite kind of candy is Kinotake. I give it out every year and I used to walk like 100 miles every halloween as a kid screaming at the top of my lungs “Kinotake, Kinotake- who the fu*& has some Kinotake!!!??” My Mom grounded me twice for this.
Anyway – Kinotake is the best candy ever, but gauging by the package, I think it kills Panda Bears and has some type of hybrid mushroom in it. It’s awesome.
Go here and make sure you give out Kinotake this year so I don’t get grounded.

Also, if I come by on Halloween (I’ll have on a baby panda costume with “I want to get stuck in concrete at a candy factory” embroidered on the back) and you don’t have Kinotake – let’s just say you may meet my old friend “ding dong ditch”.

My favorites are the fruity goodness of Dots, Swedish Fish, Sour Patch and Starbursts.

The KitKat is the perfect blend of chocolate and crunch. The people know.
Although swedish fish and starburst are pretty solid fruity flavored candies.
Carmellos are the pretty awesome, and they never get enough love.
KitKat, for sure. However, I’d entertain the idea of bacon-wrapped KitKats.
