We kicked off 2009 by welcoming our newest intern, Katrina. Katrina will be helping us turn the business wheels of R29. To officially welcome Katrina to the family, we gave her an old school interrogation complete with bright lights and good cop/bad cop.
Tim: What are you going to school for?
Katrina: Graphic Communications with a minor in photography.
Sarah: What are you doing here?
Katrina: Bringing a sense of organization into the office and I am hoping to learn about all aspects of the real design world.
Kerri: How many miles per hour can you run?
Katrina: That I don’t know.
Kerri: Bears or Beets?
Katrina: Bears!
Sarah: Cubs or Sox?
Katrina: Cubs.
Kara: What’s your favorite color?
Katrina: Burgandy, right now….
Tim: If you could be any kind of tree, what kind of tree would you be?
Katrina: I’d be a pine tree, because they smell good and they grow pine cones that you can throw at people.
Kara: What kind of camera do you have?
Katrina: Canon Rebel SXTI.
Sarah: What’s your favorite subject to take pictures of?
Katrina: My friends, I’m always looking for the candid friend photos.
Kara: Have you always lived in Illinois?
Katrina: Nope, I’ve lived in Indiana and Michigan as well.
Kerri: Favorite TV show as a child?
Katrina: Boy Meets World.
Sarah: Favorite type of ice cream?
Katrina: It changes, currently it’s pistachio.
Sarah: What’s your strongest trait?
Katrina: My ability to laugh about myself.
Susan: Any sweet tats?
Katrina: No.
Kara: Want some?
Katrina: Yes, but I don’t know what it would be, I’d keep changing my mind.
Susan: Is that your original hair color?
Katrina: Yes.
Tim: What’s your most horrifying horrifying experience?
Katrina: Back when I was in middle school, my family was big into boating and we frequently visited Lake Michigan, where during the winter the lake edges would freeze over and fish would freeze inside the ice. During one of the first weekends of the boating season while the water was still thawing I started towards shore in the freezing cold water. Then the sandbar dropped off and I thought I was going to drown surrounded by dead fish in the freezing Lake Michigan waters.
Tim: Any pets?
Katrina: Golden retriever named Crystal Burgess Gabriel aka Gabby, and a part Persian – part Himalayan cat named Winston.
Craig: How many cups of coffee can you carry?
Katrina: Not quite sure, I’ve never attempted to carry more than 4
Good job surviving the interrogation Katrina and we look forward to a more organized and photographic office!

I have seen Craig the intern carry 8 cups of coffee…hopefully Katrina can meet or exceed this precedent.

GO SOX!
Some of this is news to me. Ask her more questions. I want to get to know her better. Hope you can keep up with her. Don’t let her wear you out.
Ask her who Katie is.
Hurricane’s Mom
