Super Ads ‘09

Even with the incredibly close game, eventually ending with a Steelers victory, the highlight of our Superbowl evening was the hilarity between the plays…the highly anticipated commercials. This year saw over-the-top celebrity endorsements, childhood favorites, and even ads in 3D…Did you wear your glasses? Some were predictable, and others over the top (for instance, the animated sugar-craving insects in the Coca-Cola “Heist” ad). Here at Rule29, we’ve ranked our top five spots below the jump.

1. Careerbuilder.com “Tips” – no actual animals were harmed making this ad
2. E*Trade “Talking Baby” – Outtakes were great too
3. NBC “LMAO” – we really almost did
4. Doritos “Crystal Ball” – a comedy classic…never gets old
5. Firestone “Taters” – bickering Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head
