We’ve been up to good stuff this sweet, steamy summer and are excited to share the highlights with you in the latest issue of Creative Matters^®, Volume 28. From new branding strategies, print collateral and glossy pages to good karma websites, hot apps and social media boosts, we’re happy to report that variety really is the spice of life.

At the top of our list comes our work with a leading academic institution, where we’ve developed a new branding strategy along with a full suite of shiny new print materials. Speaking of new, we’ve unveiled a few fresh websites for our friends at JOYRIDE and O’Neil Printing. In keeping with the hot summer spirit, we also helped design MarketDelta’s new Heat Mat App, a perfect tool for those interested in gauging the performance of top stocks and funds. We had the honor of creating three new book covers, and even challenged the concept of worthiness with a breathtaking book of photographs from MacDonald Photography. Lucky for us, we also managed to squeeze in a few healthy getaways to recharge and work on a great tan (have you seen Justin lately?).

TEN X TEN – RULE29′s 10TH ANNIVERSARY
From our humble beginnings in 2000 all the way up to today, we have had the pleasure of working with tons of interesting people and companies. In celebration of our 10th, you will see a new online presence, updated print promotions and a recap of some of our favorite work. This project blog will feature 10 projects from each year, published monthly for 10 months.

It’s that time again for leaves to turn, apple crisp to be made, and pumpkins to be carved. Before all of that autumn magic starts, though, we wanted to share what we have been doing over the last four months. Despite the new readers like Kindle, there is still nothing that can replace the impact of a well designed book. Rule29 has put together a new service called Books Matter. We’ve banded together a team of printing, bookbinding, photography, writing and design partners ready to help develop your unique story, or perhaps to commemorate a big moment in your company. For more samples check out the Books Matter site – and while you page through the samples of the books we have created, if you don’t think a printed version is for you, consider an e-book that can be posted online, emailed to clients, or integrated into your site.

Also, get geared up for the 2nd annual Hand Turkey competition! It’s starting up in just a few weeks. But before you get out the art supplies, remember to wear a costume this year for Halloween! Be creative!

It’s hard to believe that summer is near halfway over, but that just means the fresh goodies from local farms and gardens are ready to be enjoyed. In that spirit, from our now one-year-old new home, we have cooked up a fresh Creative Matters boasting all natural ingredients. This tasty version is jam-packed with all kinds of creative goodness…please be careful, don’t eat too fast, or at least wait an hour before you go swimming.
