10 x 10 2010

Posted by in R29 Showcase on December 15th, 2010

It’s pretty exciting to think less than a month from now we will be entering our 11th year. To think we have worked with over 330 clients and have done thousands of jobs, I’m really blown away and humbled at the opportunity to make creative matter. Recalling past employees, my current team, our many partners and collaborators and the amazing clients really is…well, awesome. This little 10 x 10 microsite has been fun as it has forced me to look back at the work we have done each month, reflect on how we have evolved and what we have learned. I would highly recommend doing that at least once a year.

And after a decade of making creative matter, it’s still about one thing: doing the best strategic design possible. We all come to work each day and strive to do just that (and of course have some fun doing it).

This 10th year installment shows a variety of work, from brand, print, online and cause-related work. We hope you enjoy. Check it out here.

But before you check out the site, what were some of your highlights of 2010? Personal, professional, whatever – in the spirit of the season take time to look back and feel free to share.

PS: We plan to keep posting some of our favorite work on this tumblr as a way for us as a team to choose our favorite 10 projects every year. So stay tuned.

10 x 10 2009

Posted by in R29 Showcase on November 11th, 2010

We are almost caught up to 2010 in our walk down memory lane. 2009 was by far the hardest year to weed out 10 projects that we really wanted to highlight; we feel fortunate that we had so much creative matter to choose from. These 10 highlighted gems include web, video, our stop motion reel, a restaurant identity, our first documentary, This Is My Home,  and our first company authored book for Rockport Publishers: The Best of Business Card Design 9. Check these 2009 projects out and let us know what you think.

Other than going to Avatar and listening to Lady Gaga, what did you do in 2009?

10 x 10 2008

2008 was a historic leap year. Possibly the biggest moment was the election of President Barack Obama, while events such as the summer Olympics in China, Fidel Castro’s resignation, and (how could you forget) the New Kids on the Block reuniting made the year even more unforgettable. The design monkeys at Rule29 busily worked on books, web, social media, video, brands, packaging and some other memorable creative matter. One of our favorite 2008 historic moments was beginning our work for Life In Abundance, which included our inaugural trip to Africa. Since then our work and our perspective on what truly matters has changed, and we discovered if done correctly, creative can help save a life and change the world. Check it all out here.

10 x 10 For 2007

Posted by in R29 Showcase on August 18th, 2010

Going through the thousands of projects we have had the privilege to work on is a therapeutic experience. And if that sounds unpleasant, it’s not meant to. It’s like going on the big drop on the roller coaster…some projects make you happy, others make you want to vomit. For this next installment we wanted to highlight the projects that were more on the happy side. These projects show branding, promotional, advertising and more. So explore a piece of our 2007, and take the time to think about your work a mere three years ago. How has it changed or gotten better? Okay, that’s enough intro. Please check it all out here.

So what were you doing in 2007?
