Daytum Tracking Epic Taco Challenge

Posted by in R29 Fun on June 4th, 2010

Lots of us have favorite hobbies, favorite foods, favorite just about anything. Have you ever wondered how much time or how often you take part in that favorite thing? Or, have you just wanted to collect information on, well, just about anything? That’s where Daytum comes in. Daytum is an extremely user friendly site that simply put, “helps you collect, categorize and communicate your everyday data.”

Now let’s say one of your favorite things is tacos. I mean who doesn’t love this tasty dish? With millions of different recipes out there in the world, this classic dish shouldn’t get dull. Our friends at Faust love tacos so much that they started keeping track on Daytum, and it turns out they aren’t the only firm in the Chicago area that loves tacos.

Take a common love of tacos, add a little competitive spirit and a great resource like Daytum, and you have yourself a Taco Challenge. Throughout the month of June, Rule29 will be competing in this epic event against Faust, Grip, and Floodlight. Winner is determined by dividing the total amount of tacos consumed by the amount of participants per office.

RULE29 IN DECEMBER

I DID SOMETHING DID YOU?

Posted by in Random on January 9th, 2009

2008 ended on a high note: a full week of R29 being closed down to enjoy the family and the holidays. It was great. Did you take time off?

December 2008:

Firsts: Rule29 was a guest featured on the Reflex Blue Podcast. Very exciting; check it out here.
- What was new for you in December? What’s your favorite podcast?

Travel: None. First December I stuck around in years. Loved it, no dealing with delays at O’Hare and actually got all the Christmas shopping done early.
- Where did you go? Somewhere warm – come on, spill it.

Read: Reread parts of Groundswell (serious must read for those into social media) and started Do You Matter – so far so good.
- Books you’re reading? Or at least tell me your favorite from 2008.

Contest: The community campaign we did for Rand is finished. Vote for the best video submitted here.
- What is your favorite community site?

Last Months Goal: Try to give more than receive. We gave a bunch, also did our part to try to stimulate the economy. One of the coolest things we helped support was: Reasons to Give
- Did you help in any way?

Creative Matter: Created an online social report for Allstate, worked on a fun new project for Sears, created a couple cool new books and some various brand, logo and online projects.
- What was your favorite job, accolade or professional moment in 2008?

Movies: Actually went and saw several movies. Two Recommendations: Slum Dog Millionaire & Seven Pounds.
- What movie(s) have you seen lately that was awesome?

For January: Rework a bunch of things that need a brand new start.
