It’s time to get your crayons, markers, paints, and craft box out and submit your hand turkey for the 3rd annual hand turkey illustration extravaganza.

This year we’re doing things a bit differently and instead of submitting your posts to us through email, we’ve created a little Tumblr site for your turkey enjoyment. Check out handturkeys.tumblr.com/ on how to download the template and submit your best gobbler.

Thanks for all the delicious entries for the 2nd Annual Rule29 Hand Turkey competition. We received a grand total of 36 turkey submissions ranging from the traditional to the out of the box, literally. Fierce competition ensued between the young creative and the more seasoned creative; therefore, this year we decided to have our overall turkey champion with 2nd and third place winners, along with a new champion for the kids category of entries. 1st place winners will get a $50 iTunes gift card, second place winner receives a $25 card, and third place winner receives the honor and glory of getting a Rule29 design monkey hat.

We had many ties for 2nd in the children’s category like Hip Hop Harry and Surfin Turkey.

Congrats to all of our winners! We look forward to seeing all of next year’s turkeys joining the ranks of the 2008 and 2009 entries.

Halloween has come and gone. We can look back fondly of our memories of pumpkins carvings, spicy chili, and crazy costumes. Check out our Flickr set of the Annual Rule29 Halloween festivities. I feel obliged to give a shout out to Grip Design for attending, and Faust Design, while unable to attended did submit an eerily awesome virtual entry of their pumpkin carving skills. But now we’re moving on to the next big holiday and as the stash of left over candy slowly disappears it’s time to thinking of more wholesome food and Thanksgiving, bring on the mashed potatoes, stuffing, and Turkey!!

It’s now the official start of the Hand Turkey Challenge. We’ll post all of the entries for YOU TO VOTE ON, and one lucky hand turkey will win a $50 iTunes gift card as our way to show our thanks to you and runner up will win a $25 dollar itunes gift card.
